You know the feeling of connection you have with your pet? You can do that with Nature

Nature Connection with Rebecca:

Letters of Wonder from My Ecosystem to Yours πŸ’Œ

September 7, 02026

Dear friends,

Look at this babeyyyyy 😻✨

This is my cat Ries. Some of you know him as "the TA Kitty," because he loves to come on Zoom while I am teaching.

➑ Now:

Think about the connection you have to a beloved pet. What does that feel like?

What if you could feel that depth of connection to all the beings in nature around you?

Not in the same hands-on kind of way, of course. It's a different type of relationship. Creatures in nature need more personal space and we don't always get to know individuals of a species.

But it can be the same level of emotional intimacy, connection, and understanding of their needs. Basically: love.

When you spend time paying attention and being curious about a nature creature, you are putting out a little thread of connection between you and kin.

Over time, and repeated interactions, those threads can thicken and become ropes, and that relationship turns into an unbreakable bond that will last for generations.

Have you ever loved a pet?

Then you already know how to do this.

-Rebecca πŸ’š

Lonesome for Wilderness: Tracking and Trailing in Forest, Desert, or Your Own Back Yard by Linda Jo Hunter A while ago I got curious about animal tracking, so I ordered a bunch of books on the topic from the library. Most of them were field guides, stuffed full of technical information and images of tracks, sorted by species....

Nature Connection with Rebecca: Letters of Wonder from My Ecosystem to Yours πŸ’Œ October 3, 02026 πŸŒ—Last Quarter Moon Dear friends, For a while now, I've been really into Nature Journaling with pen. Unlike with pencil, of course, you can't erase. I think this helps me to be a little looser with my sketches and less perfectionist. But... sketches are still a way of recording information. What do you do if you make a "mistake" and the drawing (and therefore, the information) is inaccurate? It's OK...
